Run-of-the-mill fare at the Northumberland track, but a couple of chasers can go on to better things.
The Heart Of All England Maiden Hunter Chase saw a very comfortable victory for the latest from the Simon Shirley-Beavan 'chaser conveyor belt' in SHOW PUBLIC. Pushing on from three out he was soon clear and in no danger. A recent point winner at Friars Haugh, this one looks capable of making a mark in much better company. The only question now is whether his trainer will cash in his chips at this stage or continue to campaign this one himself.
HIGHRATE looked a decent prospect when winning here in November. He lost his way over the winter, but bounced back to form off a mark of 98. He's better than that and is one to keep in mind on decent ground in the coming months.
